Panchayat Degree College , Kalla is the first Degree College of Barkote Block in Deogarh District. The College is affiliated to Sambalpur University. This institution is situated in an area densely populated by ST, SC and OBCs and belonged to Poudi Bhuyan Development Agency Region. The rate of dropout of students after Higher Secondary was very high. The dream of the people to see a settled future of their children was pacified because they could not think of sending their children to faraway education centers for higher study. In such circumstances this institution grew up in 1992 to mitigate their suffering. This institution has created a ray of hope among them. Now Panchayat (Degree) College, Kalla is delivering courses of both +3 Arts and Science (Honours) and in future UG Commerce course and P.G courses will also be taught. The dream of the college administration is to transform this institution to be an Educational Hub in Deogarh District, where regular seminars, workshop, research work will be organized. It has a dream to establish a model society by building the personality of students through quality education and skill upgradation.
